Can C-type ultraviolet radiation pass through glass?
Test Video
There are many doubts regarding this issue and the behavior of type C ultraviolet radiation when incident on the surface of ordinary glass, i.e. glass without any special treatment or lamination, is not clearly defined in any article or on the web.
Here is a video in which we demonstrate that ultraviolet light emitted by 2 Philips XPT SE 325W tubes, about 20 cm from a 6mm glass is unable to pass through it. An approved and calibrated UVC radiation meter has been used for the demonstration.
Therefore, we can state that normal glass (laminated glass, all the more so) filters out 100% of type C ultraviolet radiation..
