How Does AIRCROSS UVC® Work?

Heterogeneous Photocatalysis

The system uses Heterogeneous Photocatalysis technology to achieve air disinfection and superfices.

The AIRCROSS UVC® is composed of titanium, and captures environmental moisture. The reaction generated as a result of the application of type C ultraviolet light on the surface of the catalyst acts on the environmental water molecule and generates hydrogen peroxide in gas (H2O2), negative ions (O2-) and radical hydroxyl groups (OH).

This oxidizers as a whole create a plasma that acts on any biological material with which it comes into contact, producing the removal in the air of up to 99.99% of any biological body, including viruses, bacteria, odors, smoke, pollen, dust, mold, mites, spores and any other suspended organic components.

Once it acts, this gas naturally dissolves into water and oxygen without a trace.

How does the system work?

Luminalia's AIRCROSS UVC air purifier works under a proven Photocatalysis, through which a reaction of Titanium occurs when applying type C Ultraviolet Light.
When the air passes through the purifier, photocatalysis inside the photocatalytic reactor is activated under UV radiation, and leads to the oxidative descomposition reaction to decompose oxygen and water in the air into superoxide O2- ions and hydroxyl radicals OH-, which can break down organic compounds in the air and destroy the cell membrane of bacteria and destroy RNA in viruses. When UV light activates the photocatalysis, it also radiares directly into the air to double the bactericidal efficacy.
